W Stands for Wired?
I know appeals to patriotism are doomed to be roundly mocked in our cynical times, but if any good soul in the White House or elsewhere in the country knows about or has evidence of the president's earwig -- please do your country a favor and blow the whistle now, before the next Bush-Cheney production knocks us all for a loop. Email us at isbushwired@gmail.com. We'll keep your identity confidential until and if you decide to go public.
An article by John Blossom has its finger on what IsBushWired is about, minus the part about "monetizing." We hope the major news media are finally onto the story, too, and will report back to the people in enough time that they can cast their votes undeceived. The mainstream press's willed blindness to this story for four years amounts to unspoken collusion with the White House to deceive the people. It's shocking.
Who you gonna believe, Bush spokesmen or your lying eyes?
A Salon update (Oct 13)quotes a technical expert whose company makes audio transceivers for the U.S. military and private companies. Looking at photos of the bulge, expert Alex Darbut says, "There's no question about it. It's a pretty obvious one -- larger than most because it probably has descrambling capability."
Bush-Cheney officials continue to deny there was anything at all under Bush's jacket, and say it was just a wrinkle.
(The Salon story also reproducesa photo of Bush driving at his ranch that some think shows a similar "bulge." To me -- and more to the point, to this doctor posting on democraticunderground.com -- it just looks like his right shoulder blade.)
Down to the Wire:
Just saw thisvery funny column about tailoring and wires in the New York Daily News ("Bush's Back is Front & Center"). Would that this were the first, or even the last question to be asked tonight. Funny how the networks were so responsive to those wacky Swift Boat accusations, but haven't even mentioned John Edwards ' newsworthy joke on Leno last night that Kerry might want to pat Bush down before tonight's debate.

I saw several news talk-shows last night that are picking up the story. But they are still just poo-pooing it, like, this could not POSSIBLY be true (nudge nudge wink wink). Unbelievable! Are they afraid to investigate? And what about the debate commission? I haven't heard much from them on this, either.
Marko
I agreed that it looked like his shoulderblade, but check out the rest of the pictures in the set. He has a wire going to his left ear, which goes down into his shirt. Now there's no reason to suspect he was being fed what to say that day on the ranch, but it at least boosts the likelihood the the bulge is indeed connected to his ear. As no fan of the conspiracy theory (because it would be stupid--even for W--to try to pull something like this in such a venue), I'm perplexed as to a more parsimonious explanation. Keep on it. You have until tonight to jam the signal!
If you look at all of the ranch pictures, the wire in his ear then was just earplugs. I asssume they were using chainsaws or somehting when they were clearing brush.

YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE!
THIS ISSUE IS NOT A SIDE-BAR, "PARTISAN" COMIC STRIP QUESTION!
WE COULD BE VOTING FOR THE FIRST TRULY "PUPPET" PRESIDENT IN OUR HISTORY--in which case the real future of our free democracy is very much at stake.
MAINSTEAM INQUIRY HAS A RESPPONSIBILITY TO PURSUE THIS SERIOUSLY!

I don't think it is that brace... parts of it would show up at the base of his neck, wouldn't it? I'm not sure why he would need to be wired while driving around his ranch, anyway.
As far as the debates go, something is definintely amiss.
But don't forget ALL THE OTHER ISSUES AT STAKE .
Keep up the good work, blogosphere. We will figure this out soon!

People who fear being labeled as conspiracy theorists are precisiely the people who keep their heads in the sand until the storm passes and ruins their lives. Bush is stupid enough to try a stunt like this. That is the point. He really is stupid enough to wear a feeder and cheat his way throught the debate. Anyone who wants to give this administration the benefit of the doubt is truly naive and deserves what is waiting in the wings if Bush is reelected. greenpoint nyc.
Unbelievable that none of the big channels even bothers to do an investigation. At least the White House could have come up with an explanation because it has become very obvious there was something under his jacket. This really stinks and is very suspicous.
Why is the Kerry camp not acting here? Are they aware, is there something they get in return for their silence?
The real test would be if W simple takes off his jacket tonight before the debate and shows there's nothing to hide. Even better; have them pass a metal detector before entering the debate. That would convince me. See how W does in the debate then.

Sorry for interupting the discusion, there's something I have to say:
I am German, living in Germany. I am one of the 95% Germans that hope that the world will get rid of Bush soon. I am posting this comment because I want to open the eyes of all the undecided voters: We here in Europe can clearly see that Bush is very evil!
You know: We Germans have been blind 65 years ago, and you Americans came over to take off our blindness. We Germans are not strong enough to come over to the States and eleminate Bush, but some of us - like me - spend time to send warnings to the American people: Wake up!!!! Stop Bush!!!! I don't care wether Bush wore an earpiece or not: Seeing him acting like a fool in Irak is enough. It's really ridiculous that such a stupide man could become the president of the strongest nation in the world.
So please, all you undecided voters, wake up and don't vote for Bush - Ans please excuse my bad English.

If there really was a transceiver, wouldn't this deal a deadly blow to Bush's campaign? So why doesn't Kerry's team exploit this story? Did they maybe agree? Was Kerry wired, too? Have the candidates been checked before the debate so that Kerry knows Bush was/wasn't wired? What's in the contract on the debates' conditions on this subject? Lots of questions unanswered so far...
people are a bunch of chickenshits, thats why. this administration destroys everything in its path. we are in huge trouble.
i'm logging off before they zap me with some internet spyware. seriously.
I'm just hoping that someone will suddenly put a loud noise in his ear and make him interrupt the debate. Perhaps that is what the Democrats are waiting to do?
Somebody posted this on another blog, it sounds too good to be real, maybe it was DUBBEDDirect link:

Look at the picture of Bush in the new "Vanity Fair"--it accompanies the article abour John McCain.
Is the Kerry campaign playing a psychological game against the Bush campaign?
Yesterday, they let Edwards went on the Leno's show to send a message: they are aware of a mystery bulge and their solution could be Kerry patting Bush down in tonight's debate. I may be naive but I don't think Edwards can decide to talk about this sensitive issue without consultation with the Kerry's campaign.
Now if Bush was really using audio prompt, wouldn't he have to think twice before using it again tonight?
Can't wait to see the SHOW starts! Wait, could this be another puppet show?
I am just as much a partisan as any of you (of the Democrat-persuasion), but this wired stuff is really idiotic. Yes, I agree that he is evil and stupid enough to do such a thing, but what he's wearing under his jacket and under his t-shirt at the ranch is neither a wire nor a brace.
A more parsimonious explanation is...TA-DAH!: a bullet-proof vest! Think about it: this guy is scared crapless that someone is gonna kill him at any time or any place. No one is running on the story because they know it's stupid to be accusatory with no substantial evidence. And, besides, IT'S A BULLET-PROOF VEST!
Sorry to rain on your parade.
Re: Bullet proof vest? ...you didn't check your facts. The Bush people have denied that Bush was wearing such a vest during the debate. See NYT article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/09/politics/campaign/09bulge.html
"Nor was the bulge from a bulletproof vest, according to campaign and White House officials; they said Mr. Bush was not wearing one."

During the second debate, there appears to be a wire behind his tie.
I finally found a decent clip where you can see it for yourself. The wire behind his tie is definitely there, and he's tucking it in just after saying "real time messages." How funny is that?
You can't see it on c-span because it's blocked from view by the question that hangs on the screen in the blue box.
I found a clip of the debate on MSNBC.COM, which shows it clearly!
You have to navigate to it.
Go to:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6191353/
On the right, there's a video section that says "LIVE VIDEO". Underneath it you can navigate forward by clicking the arrow to the right. Click it till you get to number 6: "Is Draft Possible?" Then click the "Launch" button.
He will talk for about a minute. When he gets to this point, watch very closely:
"For instance, we're flying unmanned vehicles that can send real-time messages back to stations in the United States. That saves manpower, and it saves equipment."
You can pause and replay if you miss it. He tucks the wire in just after saying "real-time messages."
IIt must have been a subconscious reaction after saying the words "real-time messages."
I'd like to know what that wire is for? Did Kerry have a similar wire?
Talking about deception, it's funny that they can further their own lies as truth, but scoff at this so called "internet conspiracy theory." This link rather humorously draws attention to this fact:
Look what we have is what we see- in debate one he is wearing something. This is irrefutable.
The photos are pretty convincing of something being worn in debate two.
There are really only two possibilites for the first bulge and both involve a harness- a wire or a back brace. We know the foool spends most of his time on the ranch using the 'fax machines' and clearing brush. We know he has a horrible balance problem (the bicycle fall on dry 'just rained on' ground and the Segway fiasco). These things combined have back injury written all over them and you can't go out to debate high on Vicodan- all good reasons for it being a back brace. But if it's that benign, why haven't they denied the wire story with the back brace story?
Who is having who? Is this just a stunt to get more people to tune in for the debates? To get people, at least on some level, to give a damn about the politics that change the world?
Who knows. Take the full spectrum RF scans, take the thermal image. Let's find out.
The Chirac video isn't proof of anything yet. It could be translator channels- why the woman in French instead of Chirac? What if the feed is for English speaking TTD services?
The plugs in Bush's ears at his primary place of residence- ear plugs. Chainsaws are loud. Right on them it suggests the operator wear ear protection.

You Americans are so funny. If only you had slightly more unbiased news sources available to you.
Remember, back in the ol' days, Shrub messed up, multiple times, on every occasion he spoke in public. Then, some two years ago, quite suddenly, his mistakes became less and less. Already back then, there was talk of Shrub being fed through an earpiece. In fact, it was accepted as common fact (at least in several European news sources), that Shrub was using an earpiece when speaking in public.
Now, these debates. 1 + 1 = 2.
Only a couple of hours to go. Makes you wonder how they'll try to hid Shrub's channeling tonight.
(And, for once, a post which is NOT anonymous!)
I was planning on watching the third debate tonight on the internets. (ha!) Does anyone know of a live blog on the debate that has been set up? could you share the web address please?
No matter what your belief about this issue, watch tonight's debate carefully (and tape it if you wish).I taped the last debate because I had planned to be out of town, and went through the tape, slowing the frames down. The wire behind the tie was visible about 33 minutes into the debate. Through out the entire debate Bush kept patting his tie area (the tie was a bit askew, off to the left side of his chest for the better portion of the debate.)
It's a sad commentary to think that this administration is so controlling they would even stoop to controlling what the president himself says. Finally, you have heard him speak for four years now, listen to what the president says and think about whether or not he could actually come up with this information off the cuff.
The only differences between the Pets.com dog and Bush are that Karl Rove is working the puppet and the dog is the one without a job... yet.
So Bush tried hiding the receiver on his back during the first debate - and it was found out! Second debate, he tried on the front - and it was found out! Where's he going to put it tonight? Up his ass?
Everyone get ready... cue up your VCRs... and watch carefully!

As pathetic as it is for Bush to be wearing a device to augment is obviously weak debating skills, what is by far more pathetic and alarming is the compliance of the nedia in this debacle. Why hasn't any moderator or debate facilitator simply requested both men submit to an electronic sweep of their persons? Collectively, we as a nation should've learned from Watergate that The President of The United States can and will lie on occasion. And Bush has done nothing to convince us that he is the paragon of honesty.
BUSH IS AT THE TOP OF HIS GAME, YOU YOU BUSH-IS-WIRED PSYCHOS ARE GOING TO GET A REALITY CHECK COME ELECTION DAY! EVER WONDER WHY THE LIBERAL MEDIA DOESN'T COVER YOUR STORY? PERHAPS ITS BECAUSE YOU'RE /CRAAAAAAZY/
hey i can not believe that we as a nation have nothing better to do then sit around and focus on a "bulge" in The Presidents suit. Those damn democratics are so desperate to win the election they will say and do anything. Whats next, Bush isnt his daddys son? Get a life and stop bein igornant. EVEN IF he is wired who gives a shit. Its not like he is the first to do this. Get over yourselves and find something else to do with your time then make a pathetic website for something so petty. You computer nerds. I hope this is posted! By the way my name is Ashley i am 21 and an registared as an independent. I just didnt want to have to be connected to this ignorant website by becoming registared. I love George Bush he is doing a great job. VIVA BUSH
I believe he (Bush) is wired.
For one thing, Bush is not as literate as many people think--that's why he has a handler. My reasoning behind this is, I was recording some vinyl to my computer the other night and the album was Aaron Copeland's 'Fanfare for the Common Man' which included Abraham Lincoln quotes narrated by Henry Fonda. Well, to make a long story short, I decided to google for similarities/differences between Bush and Lincoln. The website I found was http://www.presidentlincoln.com/poparticle-Lincoln-Bush.html . It highlights Bush as being illiterate, not having the desire to read, and stumbling over his own words. Lincoln was a Republican-- and a liberal one at that, but I definitely think Lincoln would be embarrassed to be associated with Bush's illiterate incompetence.
My Final Conclusion: B*sh is a D*mb F*ck. He needs a handler. Period.

It's 4.30am in the morning here in Europe. Why we (in the Netherlands) are watching a 'foreign' debate live on national Dutch television?
Because it's very important to us who will be the next president of the USA, ney, world! Needless to say, just like the German poster earlier in this blog, we just want to get rid of this joke(r).
I urge you to check out the 'bushmetoortje' link posted earlier. Incidentally, it's Dutch and means 'Bush with an earpierce'. If it's authentic, it's a real eye-opener (or should that be ear-opener?) indeed.
I must admit that the Bush team has learned it's lesson as I can't see any buldges this time. And it's freightning how smooooth Dubya talks now, without stumbling over his own words, like the many examples on www.dubyaspeak.com (a hilarious site, yet somewhat disturbing if you think about it).
At least Dubya admits Laura speaks better English than he does :-)
It was nice seeing Edwards in Jay's monologue the other day (5.35 am European time, I get a live feed on my satellite), right down to the comment of stripsearching Bush.

Bush is not wired.... LOSER
Umm, ever heard of a "trauma plate"? The Secret service NEVER discusses Presidential security details, ever.
If the President is wearing a vest with a trauma plate on the back, it will look like that.
Try typing "trauma plate" into Google and see how many hits you get about plates for bullet proof vests and their various sizes and bullet stopping levels.
One brags it can take 12 armor piercing bullets and you'll survive. I think it's a bullet proof vest.
They make cell phones and MP3 players smaller than a pack of smokes. You think the President's guys can't get a tiny scrambled radio you can't see?
there is no need for either to wear protective vests. The security in place in that auditorium makes it one of the safest, most secure places on the planet and the bush admistration has stated emphatically that Bush was not wearing a protective vest.
the video of bush adjusting his tie revealing the wire behind his tie is here:
http://bushsbulge.blogspot.com/
play it in slow using windows media viewer or look frame by frame the wire is clearly visible against his shirt.
His staff denied he was wearing a remote mike or a backup mike. So what is that wire, a fashion statement? Compliments the rectangular bulge on the left side of his back nicely.
re:Umm, ever heard of a "trauma plate"? The Secret service NEVER discusses Presidential security details, ever.
If the President is wearing a vest with a trauma plate on the back, it will look like that.
The auditorium was probably the most secure room on the planet. There was no need to wear a vest. And it wasn't the SS releasing the details of his security, the administration told the NY times that he wasn't wearing a protective vest.
A Salon update (Oct 13) quotes a technical expert whose company makes audio transceivers for the U.S. military and private companies. Looking at photos of the bulge, expert Alex Darbut says, "There's no question about it. It's a pretty obvious one -- larger than most because it probably has descrambling capability."
After debate three, ABC News had a shot right behind the president as everyone was shaking hands, and the lump remained. Whatever it is, it is still there. I'm looking for a good explanation (leaning towards the bullet-proof vest, personally), but if Bush is wearing one, why isn't Kerry? They both get protection from the Secret Service, don't they? Did anyone see the bulge tonight?
Here are some of mine initial observations:
There is no visible bulge.
The Bush suit's fabric pattern is different. I don't
understand much about fashion,
but I remember my friends always say that
fat people use that fabric pattern to have
a slimmer look. Maybe Bush wanted to look
slim tonight.
Before Kerry left the stage, Kerry patted
Bush on the back, held the left arm of
Bush, and patted the upper part of the
left arm.
Bush still had some stops in the middle
of his sentences. He also looked down to the
podium a lot.
Bush suddenly laughed out loud when he just
heard the moderator start a question by mentioning
that he had received a lot of e-mail this week...
Bush probably expected a question about the bulge.
He changed his attitude when I found out the question
was actually about immigrant.
There are some instances where Bush suddenly
spoke louder and faster.
Here are some odd moments when Bush changed
the way he spoke in his sentences
my opponent ... senator
my intention ... my views
trained Iraqi forces .... by the end of this year
(comment: how hard it is to say by the end
of this year? why did he stop before saying it?)
my... calmness about prayers
my ... foreign policy in Aghanistan
country was divided in 2000...
then
he moved very quickly to talking about
John McCain
$5 then $5.15 about the minimum wage
Bush just blew it by not remembering fast
enough his friend's name and his friend's painting in the oval office.
The White House said Bush was not wearing a bullet-proof vest. And to those people who say the bulge in the photo of Bush in his ranch-van looks like his shoulder blade, are you kidding? I just this minute took another look at that photo and have never seen anything so clearly as that box underneath his tee-shirt. WHY he would wear a wire while driving around on his ranch, I have no idea...but maybe he was testing it to see how far the voice of his external brain would carry...who knows?
First the Bush loyalists made fun of the Bush-is-wired idea. Now they are saying, Show us the proof. Bit of a change in tone.
During and after the debate I received reports of a bulge seen clearly at the end, I'm going over the tape again and if its anything questionable I'll post some pics in the BushWired photo gallery at:
http://bushwired.blogspot.com/
I thought there was, perhaps, something (inconclusive) in Bush's LEFT breast pocket area... hard to say... I wrote about it as the debate went on and I had a couple people write in and agree.
democrats.com has a contest (money) for the first person to send in a Bush Bulge from debate 3... so start the screen captures!
I'm updating constantly... will add any photo submissions immediately.

Could this be what Bush is using?
http://www.endoacustica.com/english/details_ear_gsm_en.htm
EAR-GSM KIT
Wireless micro ear piece kit for cellular phones
This invisible Micro Earpiece (Secret Ear), is the cordless alternative to the standard wired earpiece. Secret Ear cordlessly and virtually invisibly fits into the ear. It ensures complete covert reception that delivers a silent pick up from any transmitter and cellular phone. This enables you to listen to conversations where the transmitter or cellular phone has been placed, with maximum convenience and discretion. This is the latest step forward in miniaturization of electromagnetic technology, measuring just about one and a half centimeter (long) by half a centimeter (wide) with no loss of sound quality because of its size. Easy to fit and use, Secret Ear is just as clear in sound as the standard wired earpiece, but with the added benefit of being more discreet in use (and there are no visible wires). Secret Ear is employed extensively in "the field" by Intelligence Services of most developed countries. It therefore meets the maximum listening discretion required by business or personal surveillance. Its peculiarity is that it works with both transmitters and cellular phones.
It's suitable to any cellular phone, but in case of order please specify model and make of your cellular phone or transmitter. Of course Ear-Gsm kit for cellular phone can receive voice signal from infinite distance.
http://www.endoacustica.com/english/details_ear_gsm_en.htm
On the question:
"How can any president pledge not to raise taxes on those making less than $200?"
Kerry said "...pay as you go..." at least twice
Bush said "... he talked about pay go, I'll tell you
what pay go" (some slow down here) "mean"
Bush said "he voted over" then changed to "he voted 277 times"
This question/answer alone showed at least:
1. Bush didn't grasp the term "pay as you go" when Kerry said it. Maybe Bush doesn't grasp the concept of
"pay as you go" in general at all.
2. Bush really had trouble putting together and saying a smooth sentence to answer this question.
You folks are hilarious. First, if someone was tipping the Prez, believe me, he would have had much better things to say. Second, it would be way too dangerous, as even "invisible" and wireless ear pieces would be visible at the right angles under magnification. I think that's a good assignment for one of you kooks - examine the film, frame by frame, at high magnification and see if you can find the magic earpiece. Good luck.
Watching President Bush answer questions in the third presidential debate, I saw some possible support for the theory that he is receiving the answers through a wireless connection. When he spoke about his faith and his wife, he spoke normally and the pitch of his voice naturally varied with the emotion he wanted to convey. It is clear he was not repeating what he was told at these points. However, when he was answering more technical question his intonation was awkward and he paused in strange places. He was speaking as if he didn’t really know what he was saying.
During these more policy or technical answers, the pitch of his voice didn’t really vary as it would normally vary in a sentence. In addition, he would pause at awkward moments such as when he said “increase the border (pause) patrol.” Pausing between border and patrol is not very natural. The two words are used pretty much as a single unit. It is kind of like “Weapons of Mass Destruction.” The entire phrase functions as a single syntactic element. You are not likely to say “Weapons of Mass (pause) destruction.” There were several examples of these awkward pauses.
If someone were telling him the words to say, it would make sense that he might just say them with no intonation and pause at random places. This is by no means evidence, but it is somewhat suspicious. There may be a cunning linguist out there who has more to say on this subject.
http://www.private-eye.co.uk/covers/1117/1117pe.jpg
Tonight while watching the broadcast of the third presidential debate in Tempe Arizona, I noticed a raised rectangular bulge(about 2"x3")clearly outlined under Bush's jacket between his shoulder blades. Immediately after the debate as George Bush turned away from the podium, the camera showed his back for a few seconds, clearly revealing that there was some kind of box hidden under his jacket. After John Kerry walked up to shake his hand, the senator reached around to give the president a pat on the back and caught Bush on the back of his shoulder. It almost looked like he wanted to reach further, but Bush spun to face Kerry head on, positioning himself so no more back pats were possible. I wonder if anyone caught this on tape? (I know that different stations use different camera angles; I was watching public television affiliate KQED Channel 9.)
What was that rectangular box? Was Bush being fed answers? If so, why isn't the media investigating and exposing this? Why all the timidity about the president?
I was informed by a congressional aide that the bulge was in fact a "back-up microphone" which both Kerry and Bush wore. When questioned as to why, if this was so, the administration had chosen not to issue that explanation, I was told that doing so would only fuel the rumor. When I asked how I was then to understand the bulge in this photo:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/08/images/20020809-1_ranch8-515h.html
I was told first that what I was seeing was not a bulge and then, when I pushed the point, that yes, Bush was a robot. So it seems we're back to square one.
I wouldn't put it past Bush, or Rove, to pull a stunt like this, but some of the "evidence" I've seen is way less than convincing. GWB may be stupid enough to wear the same bulky receiver, in the same place, three times in a row, but I assure you that his handlers are not that dumb. Why on earth would it be necessary to position the receiver on the candidate's back? Why not on his leg or in his crotch, or in his back pocket? None of these locations would show a (suspicious or unexpected) bulge, and none of them are susceptible to being patted, rubbed, or otherwise touched in the course of a social greeting.
Re: Why on earth would it be necessary to position the receiver on the candidate's back? Why not on his leg or in his crotch, or in his back pocket? Answer: The candidates were positioned behind lecterns in the first debate.
Section 9, subsection (a), sub-subsections (iv) and (vi) of the debate rules clearly state that "TV cameras will be locked into place" and "the camera located at the rear of the stage shall be used only to take shots of the moderator."
But the good people at Fox filmed a rear view of the man who is clearly their candidate. They could not have anticipated that a purportedly undoctored freeze frame would flash around what our President would call the Internets showing what became known as "Bush's mystery bulge."
source: http://bushsbulge.blogspot.com/
which also has the audio track of bush's RF transmission for part of debate 2. It's clear he's being prompted by an unidentified man's voice, and it's clear that voice is not his own prerecorded... i.e. he is being assisted in real time, not just listening to a recording of what he planned earlier to say
I agreed with the opinion in a previous post. I also felt Bush was at his best moment when he talked about his wife at the end of the debate. To me, he was a different person in that moment.
YEAH... this bulge thing is now getting to the point of weird, I agree at this point his handlers would have moved the thing. well maybe not. the bush administration is stubborn at best and they NEVER make a mistake right? Think iraq.
maybe bush is a human/cyborg and has some implant
the caps are already up at http://bushwired.blogspot.com/ go see them yourself
probably the only response for which he did not recieve a prompt
Hey, folks. I remember clearly a picture posted on the Drudge Report--a site which has oddly REFUSED to discuss the issue of Bush's bulge--during the Republican National Committee. It was a picture of Bush from the back, and I remember seeing a bulge. I think he was just in his shirtsleeves. I thought, at the time, that the bulge must be a bullet-proof vest. Can anybody find that picture and see what it looks like????
Did you watch today's debate? I was watiching out his back and there was nothing such as wire, however, there was nothing in his speech! His vocaburaries were very very poor and he seedmed that he didn't understand questions or had no answer. I am still wondering if current president can cheat on people. On the other hand, his poor debate obviously tells us his limitation. Well, I would liketo pay minimum respect to the people in the president position, but I can not do that anymore.
Apologies if this has been posted already, but this guy seems to have caught Bush's promptern on tape: http://bush.carlcarter.com/
It did seem to me, watching Bush while Kerry was speaking, that he was looking and listening to something other than Kerry. For example note the left to right eye movements and the slight nods as though he was following some sort of instruction. He would make these movements and then nod slightly and then write on his notepad.
Also, at various points he would smile or make facial expressions that seemed out of synch with what Kerry was saying.
I agree that on several questions -- the more personal ones-- he seemed like he was responding extemporaneously -- "speaking from the heart" as it were, whereas on the detail-rich questions, the spacing of his words was awkward and unnatural.
I could imagine that Bush sees himself as a quarterback. Sometimes he gets to call the plays, but sometimes they come from the coach.
It really doesn't matter if he's wired because both of these guys are in the pockets of special interests. One thing a lot of people have overlooked is the whole "these guys are different, and let me show you the nuances" that these debates are about. The fact is there is a media blackout on alternative candidates in order to fool you into voting for one of these lesser two evils when their agenda is less than a stone's throw from each other going in the same direction.
At least do yourself a favor and check out the guy they were both AFRAID to debate: Michael Badnarik
Obviously, http://bush.carlcarter.com isn't authentic, but damn funny anyway :-)
Kerry did pat the President on the back squarely between the shoulderblades at the beginning of the second debate. Had there been something there, he would have felt it. That also ignores the fact that the back is a supremely stupid place to put a receiver; it would have been much better to hide it on the inner thigh or a similar place. With those considerations in mind, I have to conclude that the 'Is Bush wired' speculation is merely unjustified and rather ridiculous paranoia.
Um, what kind of doctor is going to misspell "vertical"?
Watched tonight's debate on CNN. They did not show Bush's back for the entire debate, BUT - they did have a shot at the end when the families came up on stage. As Bush was walking over to greet them, there was "something" quite viable. I checked my TiVo and zoomed in to make sure I wasn't imagining it. It was a very obvious rectangular bulge, and appeared to be a placed a bit higher on his back than the object in the pictures from the other debates.
I really think if he used a listening device, they would have something more stealth. But there is no denying "something" is there, and these lame "pucker" excuses just make it seem more suspicious. We'll probably never know. Don't think it helped Bushie much, anyway. It's becoming obvious that in 19 days we'll be referring to "President-elect Kerry!"
The shocking news is that Bush is not the only one wearing a wire. There are now reports that Blair is doing it too, as is Allawi. Supposedly, Poland is also involved somehow.

Seven minutes into the third debate bush is asked about the flu shot. This was a question that he was not prepped for. All of the sudden he goes back to his long pauses not heard through out the most of the third debate.
At seven minutes and forty seconds (7:40) he says:
We are working with Canada to hopefully, they will produce"
There is a clear pause that suggests to me that a correction is being fed to him. As if to someone said "We don't want to use the word produce". After the pause he says:
Realize.
Think about it did he really want a sound bite lingering that would have him say that we are working with Canada to produce drugs that he won't let us buy.
Come on folks this is not rocket science and trust me I am not a conspirest (or what ever it's called).
See for yourself. http://www.cspan.org / has the third debate in streaming video:

Use Real player to fast forward to 7 minutes and see for yourself.
If you want more proof cspan has the first debate and do the same and fast forward to 40:35 and answer this question:
Who is he pointing to and talking to at 40 minutes and 35 seconds?
Here is an interesting NPR link on June 26, 2004 which is a great prelude to this whole discussion:

Isn't it possible to take radiotransmitter to the next show - and send some music at various frequncies??
Could be fun to see the panic in his face :o)
Poor Republicans... Their main argument for Bush not using a wire seems to be "If he was, he wouldn't suck so bad at the debates."
I don't care what my affiliation is. I'd still be interested in knowing:
1) Why are there bulges in his suits during the debates? Stop saying body armor. His own people have already said that it's not armor and they always mock the idea of it possibly being some type of receiver. Well, don't call it ludicrous and offer no explanation. Step up to the plate and give us the information we deserve to have.
2) Why in God's name did he have a wire behind his tie in the second debate? I know, I was watching live on NBC and saw it myself. His own people have said that it wasn't a secondary microphone. What was it? Please, we deserve answers to these very easy questions.

The same lump from the first debate was definitely visible last night on the third debate. I watched it on CBS, and there were a number of rear shots of Bush. It was particularly noticeable when he moved himself to a slight angle from the camera. It seemed exactly the same size, shape and position.
I looked carefully, and did not see the same bulge on the back on the second debate. The picture of the rectangular bulge from the second debate looks different to me . . . like it could really be the back of his suit pulling as it might from time to time.
One thing I thought was interesting from the debate last night was that, even looking from the front, his suit seemed noticeably rumpled . . . almost as if he had slept in the suit or something. The lapels were clearly rumpled out of shape, where normally they drape to perfection (those are indeed beautiful suits he wears). I wonder if they rumpled his suit to add validity to their explanation of the bulge as a wrinkle/tailoring issue. The bulge still showed plain as day, though, in the middle of the debate.
Was pretty funny, too, when Bush started to say something along the lines of "I don't think it's credible to quote national news sources as . . . err . . . never mind" and then he stopped short. Sounded as though his handlers caught him and said "No no . . . don't say that, you idiot!" ;)
NYC
BTW, regarding my previous post above, I wasn't saying that I didn't think he was wired during the second debate, but that I didn't see it on his back when I looked. It would only make sense for them to move it to a different place on the body (hence the wire behind the tie?) for that debate, as it was held "in the round", and they would have expected many different camera angles at closer range.

'Bush Wired' Story Continues; 'Bulge' Appears in Third Debate
October 14, 2004 12:10 AM
Shortly after the first presidential debate, buzz began to build on the Internet regarding a bulge that appeared under the jacket of George W. Bush and squarely between his shoulder blades. The story which carried over to mainstream news with reports in the New York Times and even segments on CNN.
A story by Salon.com furthered a growing theory that Bush was wired for sound to receive assistance during the debates. While the Bush campaign shrugs off the comments as "conspiracy theories" they have denied that Bush was wearing any type of Kevlar vest that could explain the angular shape under his suit.
In the third and final debate, the bulge came back. As shown in the attached photo generated in house directly from the NBC broadcast, the clearly defined shape that started this buzz is back.
Judge for yourself as to what the mysterious shape may be.
Daryl Cagle's Pro Cartoon Index has a section entitled "Final Debate." There are already 3 cartoons up referencing bulges/wires, and they are not of the tinfoil-hat ilk; One is by Walt Handelsman of Newsday, and is on this page:
http://cagle.slate.msn.com/news/FinalDebate/2.asp
Page 4 has 2 from overseas artists, Lailson, Diario De Pernambuco, Brazil, and Julius Hansen,Horsens Folkeblad, Denmark:
http://cagle.slate.msn.com/news/FinalDebate/4.asp
The Hansen cartoon is kind of silly and cute, but the Lailson one is much more biting. None of the three cartoons ridicule the concept of Bush being wired as crazy 'internets' conspiracy, and 2 out of three treat the issue as in the realm of the possible.
John Mcevoy (owner of Knoxville Times website) speaks out on the portland.indymedia hoax:

Does it really matter to this point if he was wired? The point is Bush shouldnt be re-elected. If other countries see this .. why can't Americans? If fear is what people live on and think Bush is their salvation. Just think, do you think "certain people" will be happy with this? Get ready to keep on living in fear beacuase all he will bring to us is War and that never did anyone good. Think before you vote.
In response to those wondering why Bush might wear a receiver on his back, rather than somewhere more discrete... Perhaps this helps to eliminate the the chance of the microphones in front of him of picking up any of the transmissions, e.g. like in this press conference http://musiccoop.org/Bush-Chirac.mpg, where even Chriac reacts visibly to hearing the mics pick up Bush's prompts...
Maybe it is a bullet proof vest, and the reason the campaign denies it is because they don't want people to perceive Bush as scared in any way. This has happened before "air force one" being under attack on 9/11.
DELACROIX
I don't think Bush was wired for the 3rd debate. If so, someone should get fired for not telling him to wipe the white foam out of the right corner of his mouth that was present for the first half of the debate.

For the past two days, Jack Cafferty on CNN's American Morning has mentioned this story.
Yesterday he asked his co-hosts if (quotes may not be exact) "they had any info on the giant satellite dish strapped to the President's back in the first debate", much to his co-hosts dismay.
Today he said that "There were no memorable moments from these debates that will be shown again and again in the future, except for the pictures of the giant sattelite dish strapped to the President's back"
I loathe Bush completely, but your Salon "expert" is a complete idiot. GW's wearing a bulletproof vest. Look at the picture of Bush in the truck, it's obvious as hell.
Hey IsBushWired, who did you speak to at Bush-Cheney Knoxville regarding Scott Zale? People there are now apparently denying that he works there:
http://web.knoxnews.com/silence/
M.
This story doesn't go away because the Bush people themselves denied that Bush wore a bullet proof vest.
On the hindsight, they could have gone with that explaination to avoid further questions. Because it is universally accepted that the President may use such a vest. The decision to be silence on this issue could cause a lot of damages for Bush.
On the other hand, the Democrat's decision not to talk about this issue in public could be potentially damaging for them too.
Does anybody know what Jon Stewart is doing these days? I can't wait to see his take on this issue. It is so sad that we have to rely on fake news and late night talk shows to hear about this issue on national TV.

I'm writing because I hear something different on the Bush/Chirac Q&A (at least the version at the White House's website) than your poster does.
The question becomes: Is there some other version out there that matches what your poster heard? In which case the one at the White House site would be doctored? (I'm pretty sure of what I heard.)
Can you make sure this gets to the isbushwired.com person too? I can't figure out how to post comments on there.
Thanks a ton!

Yes the Bush/Chirac video is an interesting one... I'm not entirely convinced either, however, I actually watched that conference and it did happen. What is was, who knows? I do know this... it was on several networks, both live and taped. Chirac seems to notice something odd (but thats speculation), I have had correspondence with some people overseas who also heard the "ghost voice".
I have spoken to several reporters about this video who have also been wondering about this... I have encouraged them to try to get the tape analyzed from the source. no word back as yet. They tend to lean toward the theory of an audio problem, and apparently it was a pool video... so everyone has the same thing here in the US.
What we need is independent and verifiable confirmation of the "voice" from a different feed, perhaps from Europe. I have yet to see anything.
There are also several reports of this happening at other Bush conferences where it was witnessed both live and on television. I have been looking into this as well its hard to research these things without all the info.
- I'll try to get your comments posted at isbushwired.com
Cheers

You liberals are a bunch of conspiracy theory mongering cry babies. Why don't you scream about the bulge near the bottom of Kerry's jacket? Or don't you want anyone to notice Michael Moore's head between Kerry's legs? If you're soooo interetsed in wanting to know the truth about this election and the two individuals, why don't you start a blog and start asking why Kerry won't release the 31 or 32 pages or his military record that he keeps hiding??? Uhhhmmm...You probably won't want to know the truth. I guess you will being crying for the next four years too. Whaaaaaaaa !!! Tooooo bad!
From electoral-vote.com
The Economist ran a national poll Oct. 11-12. It was a statistical tie, with Kerry at 47% and Bush at 45%. On the subject of Bush's job approval, 44% said he was doing a good job vs. 52% who said he wasn't. Since incumbents rarely score much above their approval rating, this has to be worrisome to Karl Rove. Of some note to people who have followed the "bulge" story, one of the questions The Economist asked was if the respondent saw the picture of Bush with the rectangular bulge. Of those who saw it, 49% said he was wired for getting help by radio. Fortunately for him, only a quarter of the respondents saw the photo. Several people from the TV world have told me that his poor performance in the first debate might have been due to the fact that it takes a lot of practice to listen and talk at the same time. The first few times you try it are said to be confusing.
Sorry, folks, but the Bush-Chirac press conference footage is a big nothing. Don't make fools of yourselves by trumpeting it around as though it proved anything; the same "pre-echo" that we can hear before Bush speaks can also be heard when "Jim" (one of the journalists) asks a question. Note that while Jim is speaking, the pre-echo is a lot louder than the main track, so it is easy to miss the "real" sound track of Jim asking the question. But if you listen closely enough, you can hear it--and you will note that it is *not* distorted, as the pre-echo is.
I still think there's a good chance that Bush and his people are up to something fishy...but the Chirac thing is worthless as evidence.
Take a look at http://www.adbuzz.com/bushbuzz.htm then read http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2004_09/004659.php
and a reasonable explanation emerges.
George W. Bush, once an articulate and skilled debater, may likely suffer from the early onset of dementia. A hidden prompter is then clearly necessary to avert disasters during the debates and other public appearances. The risk of the bulky device being detected is real but the risk of Mr. Bush suddenly staring into space for a long minute, in the middle of an incoherent sentence, is much, much greater.
If this is what's going on, then it is a personal tragedy for Mr. Bush and his loved ones. And a cause of grave concern to us all.
They need your help more than ever: http://citizenshelpingheroes.org
I've been following the bulge story that's all over the internet, and I thought I'd chime in again. There is little to no evidence that Bush is "wired". The bulge is definitely there, but that does not equal a transmitter. So what are the options proposed? Here's what I've gathered
1) It's a transmitter. People point to the "let me finish" comment. It's probable he was just talking to the moderator (Bush has done this more than once in the debate. There is only one time when it's not visible who he's talking to, though. Let's say it was the moderator and move on. There's nothing to suggest otherwise.) Also, there is the Bush-Chirac video from CNN. That one can be put to rest. It's clearly a pre-echo. I work in radio and have heard similiar occurance when using phones and satellites. The voice is just Bush's that you hear. The video feed is delayed, and there's bleed-through from the phone feed. Then there's the speculation that Bush is dyslexic and uses an earpiece during many speeches. That may be true, but it doesn't mean he has one at the debate. As far as I can see, there is only the bulge to suggest that Bush had a wire at the debate, and little else.
2) It's a "rumple." Let's just say that if Bush got the same rumple again in Bush three, he should fire his tailor. It's not a rumple.
3) It's a bullet-proof vest. These vests latch at the sides, and his campaign has said it's not a bullet-proof vest. Besides, if it was, Kerry would probably have one on too. They both get Secret Service protection
4) It's a medical device (Lifevest). I'm leaning towards this explanation. The pictures I've seen on the net seem to match the bulge well, and more importantly, Bush demonstrates behavior that MAY be caused by a mild stroke. Most notably, the left side of his mouth hangs a little. There was a little spittle on the corner of his mouth in debate three, but normal people get that too. Some have said that Bush favors one side when he walks, but it's slight. Those are signs of a minor stroke. Then there's the delayed physical until after the election.
I like this explanation more than the others. First, it explains why his campaign would hide it (it hurts his chances), it explains the bulge, and the white house of has a history of covering medical problems. FDR, JFK, etc. It makes the most sense and doesn't leave those lingering questions like "why is the bulge still on his back? Why didn't they move the wire?"
Re: 4
I have been thinking about this angle too. It seems to make the most sense. I will be calling around tomorrow.
-Has Bush recently had an accident that would require him to wear a back brace? (He does spend a 'vast majority' of his time playing at the ranch)
-Specifically, has Bush suffered a stroke? Is this why he won't take the physical?
-Does Bush require a brace simply to maintain an erect posture (e.g. Was it suggested and carried out that he should be aided by a device that would prevent him from hunching down like a cornered ferret- in effect looking excatly like Cheney and Rumsfeld do when hit with a tough series of questions?)
There is still a way to get proof of a hearing device. Were scans taken at the last debate? IFB Audio recorded? Thermographic images taken?

"bush demonstrates behavior that may be caused by a mild stroke"
I could not agree more. and undoubtedly, if this is the case, his administration would cover it up just like they covered up Reagan's advancing alzheimers.
And speaking of mild stroke symptoms, cheney's half-smile is a total giveaway. Anyone who's spent time in a retirement home knows what I mean, when you see those people with the more advanced cases where their mouth hangs open a bit on one side, and you notice that they're totally unaware that they're only smiling on one side, or talking out of one side of their mouth. Typically stroke victims sit off center and can't stand straight up either.
OH shit!
Is that what the bush smirk is?

Tomorrow, my wife and I are having our third child.
I'm sorry to say that I fear for our child's future if Bush is re-elected.
After the 2000 election, when the country voted a statistical tie, you would think that Bush would have run to the center.
That he would have been a "uniter not a divider".
That he would have realized that he did not have a mandate and that he would have tried to govern from the middle.
But he did not.
He ran as far to the reactionary right as he could run.
He set out to "starve the beast" in a way that would have scared Reagan running up record deficits.
He went into Bagdad - the place his father dared not go.
He proposed a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage (never mind that in the 2000 debates he declared it a "states rights issue").
He pulled out of Kyoto and set about dismantaling environmental laws put into place by Nixon.
And on and on.
What do you think he will he do if he wins re-election?
Does anyone honestly think he'll set out to heal this divided nation?
No, he'll run even further to the right.
And the country will be more divided.
And God help all of us if the election is as tainted as the last one.
Because at some point the system starts to come apart at the seams.
Say a prayer for all the children who are being born into this world.
Say a prayer for our country.
BK
Well... first of all, heartfelt bestwishes on the birth of your child. I know, it's tough. Raising kids in this country has not gotten easier over the last 30 years, it's gotten harder. With the bullying and the plummeting educational standards, it's really just tragic. And this president we have is hardly a positive example for studying hard, or getting along well with others, or not just resorting to violence to solve most problems.
the american private schools are pretty good, though.
In Swiss schools, students are obligated to learn 4 languages by the time they graduate high school. A friend of mine is getting his bachelors degree there and told me that before you recieve your diploma, swiss students have to pass a exam that tests your cumulative knowledge from every class you have ever taken in your university career. How's that for a final exam?
His brother studied theatre and had taken more calculus than I as an engineer.
and the swiss have managed to avoid sending invading armies into basically everywhere.

This a link to a letter cited in today's Doonsbury. Please forward it widely.
It's a letter from Rep. Bereuter (Republican member of the House Intelligence Committee) in which he writes of the Iraq war:
"I've reached the conclusion, retrospectively, now that the inadequate intelligence and faulty conclusions are being revealed, that all things being considered, it was a mistake to launch that military action, especially without a broad and engaged international coalition. The cost in casualties is already large and growing, and the immediate and long-term financial costs are incredible. Our country's reputation around the world has never been lower and our alliances are weakened. From the beginning of the conflict it was doubtful that we for long would be seen as liberators, but instead increasingly as an occupying force. Now we are immersed in a dangerous, costly mess and there is no easy and quick way to end our responsibilities in Iraq without creating bigger future problems in the region and, in general, in the Muslim world."
I respect a person who can admit a mistake. I doubt we'll hear such words from President Bush anytime soon.
Smoking gun!
You've all seen the photo of Bush driving on his ranch with the bulge clearly visible on his back, right?
Check out this one from the same group: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/08/images/20020809-1_ranch5-729v.html
All you have to do is assume the same or a similar unit can also be used with a wireless and ....
The photo of Bush in the truck shows his shoulder blade. It's funny looking, but it's a shoulder blade. I'm pretty sure Karl Rove isn't hiding under a blanket in the back feeding him eloquent lines...as he motors around in the pick-up. Also, as to the earpiece on the ranch, those are ear-plugs. He's using a chainsaw, so he needs them. (Not trying to say there's no bulge at the debates. I just think there's a lot of stuff being piled on that's incorrect).

Knowledge is Power
I blogged the evidence that I mentioned in the above comment.

cheney's crooked smile not sinister, but a sign of a mild stroke. Photos to corroborate
Bush's mysterious bulge a sign of a degenerative spinal disease. the bulge as a backbrace, undisclosed since he's on pain medication as well
A photo of Jenna bush squirming in her front-row seat at the 3rd debate, looks like she forgot to go to the bathroom before the show. Hope that seat is scotch-guarded
all at:
http://bushsbulge.blogspot.com/
I love this site. It's like cotton candy.
Once we make the pigfucker deny it, and the White House is forced to reveal it is a back brace or bulletproof vest or whatever, there will be lots more good jokes at that spineless coward's expense.
I hope it makes Babs bust a stitch!
There'is one explanation :
http://www.laurentgeffroy.com/lg/publik/images/G3BO.jpg
If Bush is re-elected, he will continue his "War on terror" and try to invade other countries, e.g. Iran or North Korea...
If that happens, there will be far more casualties than in Iraq (just look at the size of Iran...that's probably the only reason Bush hasn't attacked already) and the mourning will be great. But don't tell anybody thwn one couldn't see it coming! If you elect this dumbass who obviously can't speak for himself then you deserve every bad thing that will happen thereafter. In fact, he is as religiously motivated as the terrorists - and because he has the more powerful weapons at his disposal he is the far more dangerous terrorist...
Just look at his record:
First president to lose jobs in 70 years (yeah 9/11, and jobs created in the last months - but at what cost?!? Look at your budget deficit...with that kind of spending 10 million jobs should have been created - not 1.5)
WMD in Iraq...well, come on :)
Oil price doubled in the last 12 month => budget deficit => jobs created => high oil price => recession => jobs lost ...everything the prez does comes back to haunt him
And no one in the world likes this prez (who isn't able to acknowledge a mistake - Bush has apologized for Iraq where is your apology George W.?) But no one could see the things coming that happened while he was/is president...but if he is re-elected then no one in the world will like the american people, too...because then they deserve him! Nuff said!
As a follow up:
It was of course Tony Blair who apologized for the Iraq mistake and not the man without mistakes, his majesty George W. (look at the way he answers the "3 mistake-question" in the 2nd debate - he wouldn't even name 3 small mistakes he has made...it's really pitiful...)
Hey...concerning the picture of cowboy in the truck, if that's a shoulderblade, then I guess we should all reconsider the Xfiles theme about the alien spine...Cos' it looks like it!
I mean, come on, check any shoulderblade, it does not look like this.
Besides, if you take the picture of the 1st debate, we can see clearly Bush's blade and the (in)famous box...
Tsstsstss...what a shame...
I think the bulge hides a vision-enhancing device because President Bush has normally got only black-or-white-vision. But apparently the device hasn't been working for the last couple of years...
At this link, http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/printer_101504Z.shtml, in the second picture (of the third and last debate), you can just make out that box-shape under the jacket of Bush AGAIN!
I think that the possibility that Bush is suffering from loss of cognitive abilities has not received the attention it deserves. I looked at http://www.adbuzz.com/bushbuzz.htm and I am now convinced that something is very wrong with him.
I was a debater and public speaker in my student days (my team won a state championship) and I am very tuned in to public speaking skills. Watch the movie at adbuzz and compare Bush in 1994 with Bush in 2004. Something is very wrong!
I am now feeling sorry for him and his family. Slowly losing one's mind is no joke. You won't catch me calling him a moron anymore. But that does not apply to his handlers who clearly put love of power before love of country.
This is not the first time this has happened, is it? Remember Reagan after he was shot? The slow decline? The cue cards? I am wondering if in fact Bush's condition is not viewed favorably by those who really call the shots.
Reality check, Mr. President:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uselections2004/viewsofamerica/story/0,15221,1327568,00.html
The shoulder blade (scapula) explanation is suspect. On a skinny kid, the whole thing sticks out. However, on a reasonably muscular man (Bush) the sharp vertical edge is not there due to the trapezius muscle. See http://www.innerbody.com/htm/body.html
Try Bush's position with a partner and see if the partner can detect such an edge.
I suspect that the whole business of the Bush/Cheyney Republican debate prep is the result of a failed visit to a high tech integrator-disintegrator chamber. In a vain attempt to swap key mental attributes, a corruption of the copy/paste function has activated a self-protective delete default option. Mapping the manifest effects may take some time. And it has clearly affected them both. It is obvious that in an attempt at a clean swap, randomly selected areas of their memories have been deleted. This explains Bush's failure to recall what he owned and Cheyney's failure to remember meeting and greeting. Random deletions are one of the most perplexing problems facing modern technology. Clearly there is nothing purposeful about any of this. What war?
Humpty Who?
How fucking stupid are you people? If Bush wanted to hide the main reciever, then why didn't he just hide it in his pocket? Fucking Democrats and fucking Republican douchebags, fuck you all for wasting my time.
This amazing article about the timeline of Bush's activities on 9/11 shows extreme discrepancies between what the White House has related versus the many media reports and eyewitness accounts. The author has researched this incredibly well, making the discrepancies clearly understood. We are under the impression that Andrew Card told Bush of the first plane in the classroom; the timeline and media reports reveal it was the second plane. There were reported to be two attempts on Bush's life on 9/11 before the planes hit the buildings. The American people must know how incompetently this situation was handled by "The War President," who claims to be the one who can lead us in the war against terror.
If you read this article, you will see that protecting Bush was not a top priority on 9/11, but protecting Cheney was. I think that the Republicans that encouraged Bush to run for President really wanted Cheney to be President. Cheney was part of an extreme right-wing group that wanted to invade Iraq years before the 2000 election. Bush was not a member. Many of the members of that group are now part of the Administration. Cheney was not electable due to his medical condition. They feigned a search for V.P., making Cheney the person to lead it, knowing full well all along that Cheney would be the choice. They knew that Bush had a chance to be elected for several reasons. His father was President, he was ambitious, he was a born-again Christian, and he would get support from Republicans and evangelicals across the country. Cheney did not have the personality to be the top of the ticket. Bush, who has ridden his father's coattails his whole life, was not intelligent enough to be President. But that didn't matter. After Bush was elected by the Supreme Court, this group has limited his news conferences to keep him from showing his lack of ability. There are strong reports that Bush has been wired since he started campaigning in 1999. The photographs from the debates are unequivocal. Bush only needed to be fed the lines to appear as if he was making the decisions. On 9/11, it took hours for fighter jets to reach Air Force One, but Cheney was hustled to the bunker immediately. Bush appeared to be out of the loop for several hours, while Cheney was giving orders. Bush showed himself in the first debate. That is the limit of his ability. In debate 2, it is clear that he was wired and being fed the lines. The receiver was strapped to his waist under the first button, with the wire under his tie. HIs suit creased around the receiver when he changed positions while standing. When he shifted his tie, the wire became visible. He shifted something at his waist several times during the 2nd debate, obviously he was uncomfortable. The wire is clearly visible going up the left side of his back. His speech patterns and eye movements indicated he was listening while he spoke. Is Bush the one making decisions, or is it Cheney? Cheney clearly had a better handle on what is going on than Mr. "hard work." Someone needs to investigate who is really running this county. Please read the article at the link below.

It's not a tailoring problem because it's not a unique occurance. On the weekend of W's D-Day trip to Europe the same bulge appears on the news coverage in Italy. I have video of this as well as the audible prompting of his D-Day speech in France. A DVD with these two incidents is available at www.freeamerica.us

Bush Is Wired

there is certainly something under the wrinkle and the presidents need it or he is forced to use it. it's an unsolved mystery we'll never know.
BUSH IS WIRED, and there’s archived video of the last debate where voices can clearly be heard. Video of the debate is on the website of Seattle station, KING5. You will have to register to access most stuff beyond the home page, but I'd just use a junk Hotmail or Yahoo account as the e-mail as you'll get a LOT of spam when you do register.
Go to www.king5.com, click on "Decision 2004" on the left menu bar, or go directly to:
http://www.king5.com/news/specials/politics/
Middle of the page, about 2/3 of the way down, look for the link "Final presidential debate", or go here:
http://www.king5.com/sharedcontent/washington/politics_video/101304ccktpolVidDebate.2ce78bc0.html
Now click on "part one" and the video of the debate will launch.
The direct link to the video page is here - although it probably won't work directly unless an online account is created:

The question of “Economic security” starts at 10:15 with the question to Senator Kerry. Bush’s reply comes in at 12:48, with the statement, “Well his rhetoric doesn’t match his record”
Starting at about 13:00 to 14:00 when Bush starts spouting facts, PAY ATTENTION TO THE BACKGROUND NOISE. You can clearly hear a voice and if you listen closely, you can hear Bush pause as the voice states these facts via, of course, the wired box into his ear.
I heard this on a work PC with a pretty decent processor (P4 – 1.2 GHz), good sound card, and using iPod earbud type headphones. I’d think headphones are required to hear the sound correctly – or good speakers. Now I’m the first to debunk any of these “conspiracy” theories, but there is the sound, clear as day… and it’s not just on a Seattle station but other video feeds / archives as well. I think if enough people get together and extract these sounds the blog community can overshadow the Bush Administration’s cover up of this. I mean, my God, he can’t even answer a simple debate question without a wired feed, how’s he going to run this country???
This video feed comes from station KGW, in Portland, Ore, and once you create an account on Seattle’s KING5.com, you can access the other stations with the same username (e-mail) and password (listed below). These have not been checked for the video link due to time constraints, but I am sure they are there.

if they would rig something like that up, dont you think they would try to hide it better? If you think about it why the fuck would they put it on his back? I would put the pack on my leg or something.. i dont think he was really rigged up..
I thought that he was wired and didn't even notice a bulge on his back.
His rhetoric does not correspond with his argumentation.
He puts emphasis on something, then waits... and adds something else with emphasis,....- to conclude with something else calmly. It reminds me of an actor reading a piece for the first time and trying to act it at the same time. Glances to the page and that. For Bush its pauses to listen to what to say. Its pretty obvious really
Dear Is Bush Wired blogger I want to thank you for working so hard to get the big boys to pay attention to this awfull story. I dread the next four years. I wish you well. Joan Byrne Greensburg PA
I sincerely hope that this issue will not go away now that Bush has been re-elected. Using a wireless transceiver in order to be coached during a pre-election debate (which was supposed to highlight a candidate's OWN knowledge and abilities)is just another example of Bush's dishonesty (also evident in his domestic and foreign policy dealings), and it goes against everything he stands for in the minds of the public that voted him back into office, (e.g. pious god fearing fundamentalist Christian with moral authority). I would like to see the hard evidence brought to light, and Bush publicly humiliated for this. Hopefully those involved in gathering data on this matter will see this post and be motivated to continue.
I don't understand why Kerry and Edwards didn't make a really really really big deal over Bush being wired.
They didn't personally draw any media attention to it. We the people did but Kerry acted like he didn't notice. I'm sick of the entire situation and the outcome of the elections. I hate that Kerry conceded and didn't wait for uncounted votes to be counted and angry that he didn't ask for a recount. This outcome is so very hard to digest. I went through breast cancer twice in my life and 8 surgeries and this feels the same.
I don't know what to say but want to tell you that I listened to the Mike Malloy show the other night on airamericaradio.com and he talked all about the machines. Those dammned fixed rigged machines. As long as we have those machines voting is a waste. Dictators and crazy people in power will always manage to get themselves elected. Check Malloys archives.
God help us is all I can say.
I am very dissapointed in Kerry. I was upset when Gore conceded but thought now that he was not prepared and trusted that Kerry with all the money he raised for legal assistance would have fought a harder fight but he didn't. He fought less than Gore did.
Why did Kerry pull out like that? Why?

I saw several news talk-shows last night that are picking up the story. But they are still just poo-pooing it, like, this could not POSSIBLY be true (nudge nudge wink wink). Unbelievable! Are they afraid to investigate? And what about the debate commission? I haven't heard much from them on this, either.
